Area deteriorated beyond permissible limit is to be cropped and renewed as per surveyor’s recommendations. firm to cater 1500 UTG points and 05 tons (approx.) steel (ABS Grade B) renewal including all strengthening members and associated fittings in the area. Pressure test of tanks is to be carried out, in case steel renewal is undertaken in tanks area. Yard to provide 07 copies of survey report, UTG report (in tabular and sketch format with adequate quality of presentation and accuracy of information) endorsed by class surveyor and details of steel renewal. Class surveyor to be involved for all plate fit-up survey and final survey inspection for each underwater steel renewal location. Weld seam inspection and NDT as recommended by class is to be undertaken for underwater hull steel renewed plates. De-gutting/ re-gutting and in-way job including insulation/ lagging renewal to be included. Steel Grade – Mild Steel ABS Grade B, Thickness of steel – 12 mm/10 mm, Material and Steel – Yard Supply. All inway jobs included. UTG Underwater storm valves (Dia- 65 mm) to be overhauled, pressure tested (3.5 Kg/cm2) and painting with 02 coats (one coat primer and one coat paint as per existing colour coding) to be carried out. Position of indicating gear of underwater storm valves to be adjusted to agree with position of valves when shut. All securing studs to be lightly tapped with a hammer and if any of those dislodges, all studs in the same area to be renewed. Packing gasket between flanges to be renewed as per sample. Carry out touch up paint scheme as per CGBR-382 (Issue-2) using airless spray machine in presence of paint manufacturer (Akzo Nobel) representative. Underwater hull exposed to bare metal to be repaired by scraping the surrounding coating back to a sound feathering edge followed by shot blasting to SA 2.5 and touching up with full paint scheme. Surfaces prior to application of painting, temperature/ humidity/ paint preparation are to be certified by paint rep. DFT to be achieved post completion of painting and same to be certified by paint representative. Total underwater area – 1180 sq mtr, Boot top area – 310 sq mtr.
