Overhauling Of Cupola Valve Onboard Ins Kalvari , General Inspection:- ( A ) Before This Overhaul Inspection, The Fresh Air Obturator Operating Ram Must Be Disembarked And Removed In The Shop. , Disassembly In The Shop :- ( A ) Remove The Contact Switch Brackets ( 17 ) From The Guide Tube ( 15 ) ; Discard The Lock Washers ( M13 And The Screws ( M4 ) . ( B ) Unscrew And Discard The Screws ( M3 ) , The Lock Washers ( M9 ) . ( C ) Remove And Store The Cam ( D ) Unscrew And Discard The Screws ( M1 ) , The Lock Washers ( M10 ) . ( E ) Remove And Store The Guide Tube ( 15 ) . ( F ) Remove And Discard The Spring Pin ( M15 ) , Unscrew The Cam Gasket Stop ( 12 ) From The Ram Rod ( 8 ) . Store The Adjusting Shim ( 11 ) . ( G ) Remove And Discard The Screw ( M7 ) , Remove The Plate ( 9 ) , The Leak Screw ( 10 ) And Discard The Gasket Bs ( M14 ) From The Cam Bracket Stop ( 12 ) . ( H ) Using A Pin Wrench, Unscrew The Bottom Lower Ram ( 2 ) And Discard The O-Ring Seals ( M18 ) And ( M19 ) . ( J ) Remove And Discard The Screw ( M6 ) And The Break Pad ( 22 ) .Unscrew The Upper Ram Head ( 6 ) From The Ram Body ( 1 ) . ( K ) Remove The Ram Rod ( 8 ) From The Ram Body ( 1 ) . ( L ) Discard The O-Ring Seals ( M21 ) . ( M ) Remove The Piston ( 7 ) From The Ram Body ( 1 ) And Discard The O-Ring Seals ( M18 ) . ( N ) Remove The Upper Ram Head ( 6 ) From The Ram Rod ( 8 ) . ( P ) Remove The Socket ( 4 ) And The Bearing Block ( 5 ) From The Ram Rod ( 8 ) ( Q ) Remove The Socket ( 4 ) From The Bearing Block ( 5 ) . ( R ) Remove And Discard The Screw ( M2 ) And The Lock Tab Washers ( M12 ) . ( S ) Remove And Discard The Nuts ( M8 ) , The Lock Washers ( M10 ) And ( M11 ) , Remove The Fitted Screws ( 18 ) And Separate The Bearing Block ( 5 ) From The Brackets ( 19 ) . ( T ) Remove The Socket ( 4 ) And The Bearing Block ( 5 ) From The Ram Rod ( 8 ) . ( U ) Remove And Discard The Screws ( M5 ) .Remove The Upper Cap ( 21 ) And The Ball-Joint Lower Bearing Block ( 3 ) Of The Ram Rod ( 8 ) , And Store The Adjustment Block ( 20 ) . , Cleaning :- ( A ) Degrease And Clean All The Parts Using Sds In An Ultrasonic Bath And Dry Them With Oil-Free Compressed Air. , Inspection:- ( A ) Check The General Condition Of Parts Which Should Show No Signs Of Corrosion, Shock, Caulking, Abnormal Wear Or Metal Pickup ( Cracs, Scores, Seizing, Etc ) ( B ) If Necessary, Do The Repair Operations: ( I ) Finish-Machine All The Damaged Threads. ( Ii ) With Carbide Abrasive Paper Remove All The Marks No The Locating Parts And Contact Faces Of The Seals. ( C ) Make Sure That The Surface Condition Is Satisfactory And That The Parts Are Not Twisted. ( D ) Check The Welds For Condition. ( E ) Check The Surface State Of All Seals Grooves And Check The Seals Contact Surface. No Sharp Edge, Burr Or Score Are Permissible, Because They Likely Damage The O-Ring Seals And The Scraper Ring During The Reassembly. ( F ) Examine In Particular: ( I ) The Ram Rod ( 8 ) . ( 1 ) It Must Not Be Deformed ( Buckling ) ( 2 ) The Contact Surfaces Of The Sphere Must Be Free Fromsuperficial And Surface Defect: No Sign Of Seizing ( Slot, Crack, Etc. ) ( 3 ) Make Sure That The ?4, ?5, ?8 Pipes Are Not Blocked. ( Ii ) The Piston ( 7 ) . ( 1 ) The Contact Surfaces Must Be Free From Mark, Score Or Superficial Defect. ( 2 ) Make Sure That The ?4 Pipe Is Not Blocked. ( Iii ) The Upper Cap ( 21 ) . ( 1 ) The Contact Surfaces Of The Sphere Must Be Free From Superficial And Surface Defect: No Sign Of Seizing ( Slot, Crack, Etc. ) ( Iv ) The Ball-Joint Lower Bearing Block ( 3 ) ( 1 ) The Contact Surfaces Of The Sphere Must Be Free From Superficial And Surface Defect: No Sign Of Seizing ( Slot, Crack, Etc. ) ( V ) The Press Body ( 1 ) ( 1 ) Make Sure That The ?8 Pipes Are Not Blocked. ( Vi ) Perform A Dimensional Check ( Figure 2 And Table 4 ) For General Condition Of Paint, Call Manufacturer. Write The Results Ontable 4 ( G ) Operation Before Reassembly ( I ) The Complete Painting Must Be Performed Before The Assembly Of The Parts. Contact The Manufacturer In Order To Allow Him To Realize The Complete Painting. ( H ) Reassembly In The Shop ( I ) Fit The New ‘O’ Ring Seal ( M 20 ) ( M 21 ) Onto The Ram Rod ( 8 ) ( Ii ) Coat The Thread Of The Screws ( M 5 ) With Normal Thread Locker. Lock The Assembly With The Screws ( M5 ) . ( Iii ) Fit The Arm Rod ( 8 ) With The Ball Joint Lower Bearing ( 3 ) , The Adjustment Block ( 20 ) And The Upper Cap ( 21 ) ( Iv ) Fit The Bearing ( 5 ) Onto The Socket ( 4 ) With The New Screws ( M2 ) And New Lock Tab Washers ( M12 ) . ( V ) Engage The Bearing Block ( 5 ) On The Arm Rod ( 8 ) . ( Vi ) Fit The New ‘O’ Ring Seal ( M18 ) And The New Scraper Ring ( M22 ) Onto The Upper Ram Head ( 6 ) ( Vii ) Engage The Equipped Upper Ram Head ( 6 ) On The Ram Rod ( 8 ) ( Viii ) Fit The New ‘O’ Ring Seal ( M18 ) On The Piston ( 7 ) ( Ix ) Engage The Equipped Piston ( 7 ) On The Ram Rod ( 8 ) ( X ) Fit The Bottom Lower Ram ( 2 ) With New ‘O’ Ring Seals ( M18 ) ( M19 ) ( Xi ) Coat The Thread Of The Bottom Lower Ram ( 2 ) With “ Threaded Locker Compound 242” And Screw It Into The Ram Body ( 1 ) ( Xii ) Block In Rotation Of The Upper Ram Head ( 6 ) From The Ram Body ( 1 ) With New Screws ( M6 ) And The New Brake Pad ( 22 ) ( J ) Tests : Perform A Leak Tightness Test Of The Ram Chamber Connected To The Airt System ( I ) Test Conditions: ( 1 ) Test Duration: 30 Minute ( Ii ) Means: ( 1 ) Test Fluid: Air, ( 2 ) Test Pressure: 49.5 Bar, ( 3 ) Max Pressure Build-Up Rate: 5 Bar / S ( Iii ) Procedure: Subject The Fully Assembled Fresh Air Obturator Operatingram To A Leak Tightness Test At The Test Pressure ( 1 ) Test Fluid: Air ( 2 ) Test Pressure: 49.5 Bar ( 3 ) Duration: 30 Min ( 4 ) Test Assessment: No Leakage Is Permissible. ( Iv ) Increase The Pressure In 5 Bar Steps, Holding The Pressure For 10 Min At Each Step And For 30 Min At The Maximum Pressure , Re-Assembly Onboard => Limited
