Job involves obtaining height pass, provision of stoppers at both the sides, hanging of red flag, cutting and lowering of the damaged rail, edge preparation of the new rail as per relevant VSP standard welding of the joint with 7018 electrode after preheating the same, clamp bolt tightening and putting asbestos cloth over the joint for controlled cooling, trial run and normalisation. Alignment of the rail as per the survey report/on the basis of the distance between the markings on the columns,replacement of the damaged clamp bolts, and tightening of the bolts. Shifting of the revisioned gear box to the maintenance bay of the crane and lifting to a height of 15meters, provision of stoppers at both end of the crane, hanging of red flag, parking of the crane at the correct location under the telfor, removal of the coupling bolts and the gear box foundation bolts, alignment of the gear box, tightening of the foundation bolts and coupling bolts and normalisation. Provision of stopper at both the ends of the crane, hanging of red flag, removal of the LT gear box,lifting of the revisioned gear box , alignment and coupling of the gear box to the motor and trial run, fixing back the coupling cover and normalisation. Gouging of the rail joint, V-grooves and grinding of the joint, controlled welding of the joint with prescribed electrode with DC generator set only, wrapping the joint with asbestos cloth for controlled cooling and grinding and normalisation after the maintenance work. Decoupling of the Telfor gear box, bringing down with the help of chain pulley block to the ground level, opening of the top cover, draining out of the oil, dismantling of the internals if required,flushing of the gear box, replacement of the seals/bearings if required,lifting of the gear box to the telfor and alignment and fixing. Removal of the brake assembly from the equipment,dismantling, replacement of the wornout parts, assembling back on the equipment and testing. Structural repair job includes all kinds of repair and modification of structures on the cranes, walkways, staircases, platforms. The jobs could be strengthening of gear box bases, replacement of hand railings, strengthening of the cabins for the operator, repair of the operator seat in the operation cabin, repair of the cable wire guide etc. etc..
