| 1 | Excavation in any approved type of soil in approved borrow areas by mechanical means including stripping of borrow area and clearing of all trees, stumps, roots, bushes rubbish, humus and other objectionable materials outside the designated borrow area for bringing earth as required for the work including cost of construction and maintenance of haul roads and approach roads from the borrow area to work site including watering if required in borrow area loading and transporting the excavated materials by mechanical means and laying on properly prepared and scientifically approved surface having 0.6m to 0.90m extra width on both side of the embankment beyond design section of bank of canal in filling reaches and levelling the earth in 22.5cm layer by manual labour or by mechanical means including rehandling the soil if required (to make the fill ready for watering and compaction) to proper shape & size with all leads, lifts, delifts and cost of dewatering if any cost of all materials all taxes on materials including the cost of mobilisation and demobilisation supplying operation maintenance of all machineries equipments and labour required for the work inclusive of supervision charges complete as per direction of Engineer-in-charge complete in all respect(payment will be made on finish design section, contractor has to arrange borrow earth at his own cost). |

| 3 | Earth work in excavation of foundation by mechanical/manual means in all kinds of soil including disintegrated rock of all kinds including sheet laterite and soft rock, sand stone hard conglomerate rubble stone having all size not requiredblasting, soling roads, path, hard core macadam surface (water/ tar/ bitumin or lime bound) lime or cement concrete, masonary with cement or lime morter below ground level, soft conglomerate where stone may be detached from the matrix with pickaxe and generally any materials which require the close application of pickaxe scarifying to loosen any soil mentioned above by, manual or mechanical means with all leads, lifts and delifts including shoring, shuttering, proping bullah, pilling, including cost of dewatering drainage arrangement and slushremoval if required & ramming the foundation and removing stumps and roots of trees including stacking the excavated materials away from the work site including back filling the sides of foundation trenches with useable earth in layers not exceeding 150mm thick including ramming manually or mechanically fully compacted as per the drawings, designs and specifications, including cost of mobilization, demobilisations, supply or all equipments, materials, labour ,tools required for the work, supervision charges, all taxes etc. with all incidental charges to complete the item of work as per direction of the Engineer-in-charge.
