As Part Of The Wallonia Recovery Plan, Financial Resources Were Released By The Walloon Region Via The 99 Call For Projects Aimed At Setting Up The Reinandration Of Watercourses And Creating Temporary Immersion Areas (Zit) To Combat Floods And Risks Of Water Shortage. The Project Submitted By The Province Of Luxembourg In Partnership With The Municipality Of Marche In Famenne, The Inter-Municipal Idelux-Eau And The Rivière Lesse Contract Was Selected. A Subsidy Was Granted To The Province By Decree Of The Walloon Government Of July 20, 2023 With A View To The Implementation Of The Operation Development Of A Temporary Immersion Zone And Arrangements Aimed At Promoting Biodiversity To The Law Of The Rivers The Hedrée Upstream Of The Village Of Hargimont Within The Framework Of Approach 2 Of Project 99 Set Up The Remedial Of Watercours And Temporary To Combat Floods And Risks Of Water Shortage Of The National Plan For Recovery And Resilience. More Concretely, The Project Consists Of The Development Of A Dike On The Hedrée Upstream Of The Château De Jemeppe In Hargimont (See Location Via The Project Plans) Within The Hargimont State Reserve Managed By The Department Of Nature And Forests Of The Walloon Region Which Was Also Associated With The Development Of The Project. The Main Characteristics Of The Zit Are A Dike More Than 155 Meters Long By 4.5 M Maximum Peak Of Peak (Compared To The Lowest Bank), A 4 M Peak Width And Covered With A Layer Of Grass. The Safety Spill And The Emptying Work Are Combined In A Concrete Development Whose Revenge And Section Of The Drain Enhancement Have Been Calculated To Regulate The Flows Passing Over And Through The Dike. Regarding Landscape Integration, The Grassy Layer Is Made Up Of The Regrowth Lands Taken In Situ And Allows Continuity Between The Natural Terrain And The Dike And Therefore A Continuity Of The Substrate And The Species Found There. The Dimensioning Of The Dike And The Creation Of A Modular Leakage Flow Device Have Also Been Reflected So As Not To Impact The Natural Dynamics Of The Watercourse. Thus, This Installation Will Guarantee The Free Movement Of Species Subservient To The Hedrée Stream. The Quality Of The Water Mass Will Not Be Impacted But Rather Improved By Developments In Favor Of Biodiversity Which Will Make It Possible To Guarantee The Lateral And Longitudinal Connections Between The Minor And The Major Bed Of The Stream. Thus, Several Ponds Will Be Made Upstream Of The Restraint. These Ponds Will Be Dimensioned, Located And Produced Under The Supervision Of The Dnf, Manager Of The Reserve, Taking Into Account The Support Of The Demna Scientists. The Reserve Being Periodically Grazed By Rustic Species, A Refuge Arrangement Will Be Carried Out So That The Cattle Can Be Secured During An Implementation Of The Zit. The Emptying Time Estimated Between 15 And 18 Hours, Also Makes It Possible Not To Be A Major Obstacle To Biodiversity By Not Drowning The Species Present During Too Large Times.
