Tenders are invited for Thermal Modelling of Satellites for Non-Gravitational Forces towards Millimeter Level Orbit Determination - Expro plus. Open Date: 25/02/2025 10:33 CET Closing Date: 25/03/2025 13:00 CET Price Range: 200-500 KEURO It has been demonstrated that knowledge of the temperature of GNSS satellites can be used fornon-gravitational forces modelling leading to improvements in orbit accuracy. The concept can beapplied to all missions requiring improving current centimeter accuracy towards millimeter level orbitdetermination, such as GENESIS-1 and Sentinel satellites. Further improvements are possible bymerging conventional thermal models (such ESA model ESARAD) with 3D solar pressure models (such ARPA in NAPEOS). Besides orbit accuracy empirical parameters become more physical leading to benefits in science. With acceleration magnitudes in the 1e-9 m/s2 order, model improvements are also beneficial for future gravimetry missions. This activity encompasses the following tasks:- data and parameter acquisition as raw telemetry readings (In the case of GNSS, for instanceusing relevant statistical models) per satellite family..-design and implementation of force models and sensing strategies;- tests on real and simulated data targeting GENESIS-1, Sentinel 6, GNSS and other missions.
