On January 18, 2022, The New European Directive 2017/2397 On The Recognition Of Professional Qualifications In Inland Shipping Came Into Effect. The Flemish Waterweg Is The Competent Authority In The Field Of The Organization Of The Exams And Supervision Thereon Under This European Directive. The Vlaamse Waterweg Is Also Responsible For The Organization Of The Adn Expert Exams (Basic, Chemistry And Gas Certificate) From The Adn Convention. Since January 18, 2022, The Theory And Practical Exams For Inland Shipping Have Been Carried Out In The Exam Center In Willebroek. The Duties Of The Exam Center Were Outsourced To An External Service Supplier. The Contract With The Current Service Supplier Expires On January 17, 2026. From January 18, 2026, The Flemish Waterweg Must Ensure That The Exam Center Will Remain Operational. In Order To Ensure Its Role In An Efficient Manner, The Flemish Waterweg Wishes To Appeal To A Contractor For The Organization Of These Exams.
