Expression of Interest for Crime Scene to Court Room: Strengthening Outcomes of Nuclear Forensics in Prosecution The JRC is planning to issue a tender aimed at strengthening the outcomes of nuclear forensics in prosecution. The scope of the work involves assisting the JRC in determining how nuclear forensic findings can be utilized in court proceedings and how expert witnesses presenting the evidence are accepted across EU Member States. Additionally, the task includes developing guidance for prosecutors on the specific aspects of nuclear forensics. The tender also seeks to exploit the use of traditional forensic evidence collected from radioactively contaminated items and to create training exercises for law enforcement that merge traditional and nuclear forensic examinations. The successful tenderer shall work in collaboration with the JRC and a working group, to be established, consisting of lawyers and scientists from EU Member States. The tenderer should possess expertise in radiological crime scene management, nuclear forensic science, and have experience working with law enforcement.
