Registration of Interest (ROI) for Microbial Fermenter (800 L - 1200 L Working Capacity) Open Date: Tuesday, 19 November 2024 9:00 AM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+13:00) Close Date: Tuesday, 3 December 2024 12:00 PM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+13:00) Tender Type: Registration of Interest (ROI) Tender Coverage: Sole Agency Regions: Bay of Plenty Required Pre-qualifications: None Overview: Scion is a Crown Research Institute (CRI), which is a government-owned company that carries out scientific research for the benefit of New Zealand. We specialise in research, science and technology development for the forestry, wood and wood-derived materials and other biomaterial sectors. What we need We want to procure a pilot scale microbial fermenter system within the range of 800 L to 1,200 L working capacity, with a height to diameter ratio of 3:1. We want to build on our existing scale-up capabilities by enabling research at a larger scale which can bridge the gap between laboratory development and commercial production, enabling our researchers and clients to validate their processes and generate market ready samples. This involves the purchase, installation and commissioning of the equipment, including training of staff and handover of all appropriate documentation and certifications. What we dont want We are not interested in single use fermenters. The fermenter system design does not require compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or ATEX design requirements. The fermentation system will not be used for pharmaceutical products. Whats important to us? It is important that the supplier has the relevant experience, performance and track record to successfully deliver the contract safely, on time, and meet our technical requirements. We are after suppliers that can maintain and support us to successfully operate the system over the lifetime of the asset and meet our broader outcomes.
