RoNS includes a total of 15 projects focused on building four-lane, grade-separated highways, and road corridors as quickly as possible. These projects aim to boost New Zealands economic growth and productivity by reducing congestion, enhancing safety, supporting housing development, and improving resilience. As part of NZTAs new way of working, NZTA has developed and is rolling out the Investment Case process. The Investment Case is to be delivered in an agile fashion, using a sprint delivery approach, and will include the following key requirements: Understand problems, opportunities, and constraints to achieving transport outcomes. Selection of a preferred option with a clearly defined delivery pathway. The preferred option is assessed for strategic fit, cost, risks, and benefits.
