Work Detail

The Proposed Contract Requires The Planting Of Approximately 441 Hectares Within The Campbell River Natural Resource District Land Base As Follows:Fall 2024 Plant Project - An Estimated +/- 200,115 Seedlings Are Allocated For Planting In 21 Blocks Of Which 12 Of The Blocks Are Either Fill Plants And/Or Burn Pile Plants, Over ± 290 Hectares. Approximately ±84,000 Seedlings Will Require Fertilizer (10Gram Teabags) Application. Approximately ± 46,000 Seedlings Will Require Fertilizer (20Gram Teabags) Application.The Contractor Is Expected To Be Capable Of Providing Productivity At A Minimum Of 14,000 Seedlings Planted Daily To Complete This Project Within Approximately 3 Weeks. Spring 2025 Plant Project - An Estimated +/- 172,201 Seedlings Are Prescribed For Planting In 9 Blocks Of Which 3 Of The Blocks Are Either Fill Plants And/Or Burn Pile Plants, Over ± 151 Hectares. Approximately ±2,300 Seedlings Will Require Fertilizer (10Gram Teabags) Application.The Contractor Is Expected To Be Capable Of Providing Productivity At A Minimum Of 12,000 Seedlings Planted Daily To Complete This Project Within Approximately 2-3 Weeks. All The Blocks Are Located Within The Campbell River Natural Resource District And Are Rated As Moderate Risk Planting Based On Critical Site Factors. Key Personnel Are Required.Refer To The Schedule A And B, Schedule B1 Addendums, Schedule C, Maps, Safety Planning Assessments And Photos Where Available For Additional Detailed Information Regarding; Seedling Handling And Storage, Block Locations, Access Details, Fertilizer Application Instructions, Seedling Protection And For Further Details On Blocks That Have Active Harvesting, Hauling And/Or Active Deactivation (Where Known), Including Blocks That Have Difficult Access Such As Helicopter Or Boat And Barge Requirements. Contract Deliverables Will Be Planned For Completion After Each Planting Program. Changes Impacting Bcts Clients Include New Training Requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, Sfi Awareness Documents, And New Indigenous Rights Awareness Training, As Well As Changes To Training Frequency And A New Continuing Education Component). In Addition, Note Changes To Ems/Sfm Environmental Field Procedures And Incident Reporting Procedures Which Occurred June 1, 2022. Supervisors And Workers Will Need To Be Familiar With These Changes Prior To Commencement Of Operations.
