Reprographic Services – Digitization Of Tables Of Contents As Part Of The Ongoing Catalog Enrichment Of The German National Library. As Part Of The Catalog Enrichment, The German National Library (Client) Is Constantly Having The Tables Of Contents Of All New Publications (Monographs Including Multi-Volume Works As Well As Magazine And Loose-Leaf Titles) Digitized By An External Service Provider (Contractor) And Intends To Initially Continue This Service At Its Leipzig And Frankfurt Locations. As Part Of The Contract - Around 140,000 Volumes Of Different Format Sizes Are To Be Processed Per Year, Of Which Around 115,000 Volumes Have Tables Of Contents; The Volumes To Be Processed Are Delivered By The Client To The Scanning Workstations And Picked Up Again After They Have Been Processed On The Day. - To Check The Volumes For The Presence Of Tables Of Contents (Available In Approx. 80%) And To Document The Result As Well As - To Digitize The Tables Of Contents Found With A Total Of Approx. 270,000 Pages And Convert Their Text Into Ocr Data. Increases Or Decreases Of 10% In Both The Number Of Volumes To Be Processed And The Number Of Pages To Be Digitized Are Possible. The Scanned Tables Of Contents (Hereinafter Referred To As Digital Copies) Are Delivered By The Contractor To The Client Via A Storage System And Are Then Available Via The Catalog And The Metadata Services Of The German National Library.
