Prior Information Notice For . Ii.4)Short Description Of Nature And Scope Of Works Or Nature And Quantity Or Value Of Supplies Or Services:The Dutch Ministry Of Defence (Nl Mod) Is Investigating Various Solutions In Order To Achieve A Reduction Of Thedependency On Fossil Fuels In Line With The Deos1, The Defence Energy And Environment Strategy. This Reductionshould Be 20 Percent In 2030 Running Up To 70 Percent In 2050, With Respect To 2010. This Year, In The Agenda Forsustainability Implementation2, The Target For 2030 Has Been Enhanced To The Adoption Of 30% Renewable Fuel Per Fueltype Consumed By The Nl Mod. To Contribute To These Goals, The Royal Netherlands Navy (Rnnl) Needs To Change Toalternative Energy Carriers And Power Systems, Starting With The Replacement For The Auxiliary Vessels.The Rnln Operates Ten Auxiliary Vessels, Which Operate Mainly In The Netherlands (Main Port: Den Helder), North Sea,Norway And The Dutch Caribbean (Main Port: Willemstad, Curacao). These Vessels Can Be Divided Into Two Vesseltypes; Five Seagoing Auxiliary Vessels With Varying Purposes And Five Harbour Diving Vessels. Both Vessel Types Arereaching Their End Life Of Type (Elot). Therefore, Replacement Of These Vessels Is Needed In The Period 20262035.Preliminary Feasibility Studies And Consortia Like Green Maritime Methanol And Methanol As An Energy Step Towardszeroemission Dutch Shipping (Menens) Have Shown That Methanol Is A Solid Candidate As Future Ship Fuel. Therefore,The Nl Mod Has Decided That The Replacement Auxiliary Vessels Should Run On Green Methanol. With Theimplementation Of Methanol On The Auxiliary Vessels The Rnln Seizes The Opportunity To Gain Knowledge On The Designand Application Of Climateneutral Energy And Power Concepts, Applied To Navy Specific Operational Profiles. Thematerial And It Command (Commit), On Behalf Of The Rnln, Is Preparing A Tender For The Replacement Of Theseauxiliary Vessels. This Rfi Is Not Part Of This Tender.Consequently, The Need Has Arisen To Establish A Methanol Infrastructure And Supply Chain, Thus The Procurement,Transport And Storage Of Methanol As A Fuel Are Investigated. With This Market Consultation, Commit Wants To Gain Acomplete Picture Of The Current Methanol Market, Encompassing The Specifications Of Methanol Produced And Offered,The Logistical Infrastructure Involved, Methanol Engine Technology And The Specifications Methanol Needs To Comply Toas A Fuel For Marine Engines. The Auxiliary Vessels Are Used As A Reference Project, As They Are The First Step In Theenergy Transition Of The Rnln.
